When you look at my site, you are rarely ever looking at a retouched image. You're seeing every pore for what a pore really looks like, every little ounce of unavoidable peach fuzz, and every eyebrow hair out of place. If I have a crazy blemish or two, I will admit I wouldn't say no the idea of editing that out, but, I still will say I have felt oddly guilty when I do. Especially in the world of beauty and skincare, It's important to be honest about how things look on people in the real world. The beauty industry and the products us consumers can buy shouldn't sell results that are only a fantasy, it should be selling a real thing we can strive for and actually achieve. I wouldn't feel right bragging about a beauty product then altering the way it REALLY looks on real, human skin. You know your using the right products and taking proper care of your skin when you aren't afraid to let the lens get close.
Like I previously did with my feature Hit List back in January, I wanted to touch base with you guys about the stuff I've been using non stop the past month or two (in no particular order)- the things I just can't stop bragging about how good they are. Also, you must never forget, beauty starts from within. So I included some supplements I've been taking to keep my skin healthy.
