One of my biggest beauty breakthroughs happened just 6 days ago, when I was at home looking through my makeup drawers for my favorite black liner. There were countless products used endlessly, but far more untouched and good as new. The products in my seemingly massive makeup collection that were never used, you ask? Anything with bold, vibrant, "fun" colors. Yellows, blues, pinks and greens- untouched. Purchased on a daring whim, but knowing secretly i'd be too afraid to use them. Looking at all of these products, I tried to find a purpose that was fitting for me. What if there IS a way to achieve that runway beauty look I've seen for countless seasons for MY real life? My only personal memories of colored makeup consists of middle school eyeshadow experimentation and countless days of Maybelline royal blue mascara in the early 2000's. But, that's when I realized, I didn't need to rely on a basic black cat eye every single day of makeup application. Who said I had to anyways? Only my fear of color.
That changed on this very day 6 days ago. So, when I really couldn't track down my black liner I instead allowed myself to get sidetracked with a burnt orange Armani beauty lipstick and decided although its a shade I never wore out once even though I had a secret love for it, I decided today was the day to switch up what was usually my statement look of liner (pictured here). And that day now leading to endless possibilities. Here, I work with makeup artist Elizabeth Windust to show you three looks I'm all for and been dying to try that are the most bold i've ever gone. I can't wait to experiment more with all sorts of hues in my beauty routine going forward, as I can finally say I'm no longer afraid of color, not even in the slightest.
