Visiting Cartagena, Colombia, introduced a California native to a new level of hot nights. There was nothing that could keep me from exploring castles and ruins in this beautiful city, not even sweltering sunsets and crazy-humid mornings. Linen has never been my fabric of choice living in Los angeles. When traveling to South America right on the brink of a hot summer, you find the power of linen on the body to be your saving grace, along with a daily thing. It was actually quite fun to be so indifferent to the sweat, the intensity, the sunset that could melt me, and soak in the beauty of my final night in Cartagena at the Castillo San Felipe.
