Plaid skirts always have reminded me of school uniforms, which really is a cliche generalization to plaid and doesn't always apply, I know, but I haven't really found a way to work them into my day to day wardrobe. I find that if they are worn with too little skin showing, it can feel to stuffy, and too much skin and its far from what feels classy to wear out and about. I ordered this one off Reformation on a whim, as a challenge to myself to find a way to wear it that's a little sexy, super classy, a little fun and add a touch of flair. I'm a huge crop top lover, so I thought it was a good place to start with my absolute favorite one that happens to have a turtleneck- perfect chance to show some skin, but not go overboard all in one. (Side note: I will bring back this turtleneck crop time and time again, letting you know in advance) Ankle socks are a must now when I wear strappy pumps of any kind, so naturally, these made the cut. So the verdict is, I still feel a little bit like plaid skirts equal school girl, and guess what, i found that it does work for me and I love it. Class is in session.
